“I draw my inspiration from many different experiences, but the natural world comes first. In some ways, I think of myself as an explorer-behind-the lens. I lose myself in all aspects of nature — from Alice in Wonderland’s whimsical take on language and visuals to the life cycle of a flower. I experience composition and form in nature, and translate that through my camera into essays-without-words.”

Kathryn Kleinman expresses her innate understanding of composition and texture in striking botanical photographs that evoke and inspire. Evident in each piece is Kathryn's inspiration from light, water and natural beauty, and her ability to capture essential aspects of nature's abundance with clarity and refinement.
Kathryn’s photographs are available for purchase. Please contact her through the website if you would like to discuss a purchase.
Although Kathryn is principally a photographer, her interest in the visual leads her to new directions. Recently, she has used her iPhone in video mode to capture mini-inspirations of the world that surrounds her. “When you try to live in every moment, you want to appreciate and remember those moments,” she says. These impromptu “moving pictures” provide that memory and eventually may find their way to future projects.
